CMFD maintains are relatively small full-time staff, all of whom come from a wide range of backgrounds and are representative of the diversity of the work we do.
Daniel Walter (Director) - Founder and Director of CMFD Productions, Daniel’s work in radio has taken him across the continent. Daniel specialises in audio production and media training, and has worked with diverse groups – including professional journalists, political spokespeople, rural women, and children - to produce radio dramas, magazine and feature programmes, and music. A trumpet player, he also uses music to create high-impact media programmes. Originally from
Cindy Dzanya (Projects/ Administrative Assistant) - Cindy has worked with CMFD Productions since 2003, and her most recent capacity as projects assistant since 2007. Among many other project-related tasks, Cindy oversees CMFD’s website, writes content, produces audio and sfx, and coordinates monthly bookkeeping. Cindy has conducted research related to media, drama development, and migration in
Emilio Langa (Projects Assistant/ Sound Engineer) - Emilio first worked with CMFD as part of the Alertas da Vida youth group that produced radio spots to raise awareness around human trafficking in Mozambique, as well as a theatre production dealing with youth and reproductive health. He has since produced numerous CMFD radio productions – Trading Places: Food Security Awareness, Madjuba: Quest for the Talisman, Bravos do Zambeze, the Crossroads series, and many more, as well as on site recording and production, such as with the Passo a Passo Digital Story project. A talented sound engineer, photographer, and music producer, Emilio leads CMFDs production work.
Onyebuchi Onyejieke (Project Coordinator) Onyebuchi Onyejieke is the project coordinator for Youth Fit Africa (YFA), and more recently also a coordinator of other CMFD media projects, such as the Mozambique Flood Recovery Media Project, Learning to Read, and CMFD’s new Voice Bank initiative. Since YFA launched in May 2012, he has developed the YFA website content, hosted two successful promotional basketball tournaments, and made several media appearances to promote YFA, and youth fitness. He is an enthusiastic basketball player (small forward/ point guard) and coach, originally from Nigeria, currently studying to be a nurse.

Dana Da Silva (Intern) Dana is a media intern who recently graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and Psychology. Originating from Mozambique, Dana has been studying in South Africa for many years and is currently doing a community journalism course at UNISA. While interning at C.M.F.D productions she is assisting with the implementing of projects and activities that are related to using media for social change. These projects are the flood recovery project (Disaster Risk reduction) and the Learning to Read project. She writes weekly content for the online magazine Youth fit Africa.

Lerato Tladi (Intern) Lerato recently graduated at the University of Johannesburg with a BA Humanities degree majoring in Linguistics, Psychology and Philosophy. Before she started interning with Cmfd she was a student assistant for the UJ language Unit. Lerato has a passion for writing, reserch and making a difference. She hopes one day to publish a book. She is currently an intern doing research, working on the production of the food Security Documentary, writing of Soul beats and writing content for youth fit africa.
